Derrick Anthony Emerson, Sr. was born August 27, 1968, in Jackson, Tennessee, the seventh child of the late Norl D. Emerson and Minnie Lee Chism Emerson.
When Derrick’s life ended on March 1,2024, he entered his eternal
rest joining his father, mother, wife Arnicher J. Emerson, son Darius A. Emerson, sister Patricia A. Northern, (2) brothers Norl D. Emerson Jr., Gregory B. Emerson, Sr., a niece Brandi Emerson Wheeler and all his loved ones who have gone on before him. Those of us who remain comfort ourselves with the precious memories of his fifty- five years with us. We thank God for allowing us to know such a God fearing man, who was a gentle giant, a kind loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.
Derrick accepted Christ at an early age and joined Walnut Grove
Missionary Baptist Church. Derrick was educated in the Jackson- Madison County School System. No stranger to work, Derrick was employed with the Jackson Transit Authority.
Derrick met and married the love of his life the late Arnicher J. Emerson on August 22, 1992, and to this union (2) children were born. Derrick Anthony Emerson, Jr., and Darius Antwon Emerson.
Derrick leaves to cherish his memory his son, Derrick Anthony Emerson, Jr. (Naya) of Jackson, TN; one granddaughter Ny’omi Arnicher Sharae Emerson of Jackson, TN; one brother Randy Emerson of Bolivar, TN; three sisters Cherress Emerson, Loretta Emerson, and Michelle Shaw-Brooks (Tyrus) all of Jackson, TN, six brother in laws Bennie Northern, Brian Bowers (Shon), Lincoln Bowers, Loronzo Bowers, Treasure Henning all of Jackson,TN; Fitzgerald Bowers of Jackson, MS; and one sister in law Tina Emerson of Jackson, TN;, cousins whom he spoke with daily Sharon Conley and Saundra Robinson of Milwaukee WI; two childhood friends Travis Franklin, Sr. of Jackson, TN, Rodney Johnson of Charlotte, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
