Melissa Ann Knighton

On February 9, 2023, Melissa Morris Knighton went home to be with her savior after a long illness.  She is preceded in death by her mother Martha Streety Morris, brother Brad Morris, niece Brittany Morris and grandson Bobby Lynn Transou.   She leaves behind her husband Terry Knighton, daughter Sarah Beth Knolton, 2 grandsons Brandon and Braxton Transou, father Larry Morris, brother John Morris, Christie and Chance Morris (Brad), aunts and uncles.

Melissa graduated from Jackson Central Merry in 1985.  Melissa’s life work centered around helping others in need.   She spent the better part of her career in nonprofit and writing grants that would help thousands find mental health and substance abuse resources.   She worked in case management with the HIV/AIDS community connecting people to necessary resources.  Melissa never met a stranger and never believed anyone was past the point of help.   She always had a smile and kind word for everyone.   She loved people and she loved the Lord.
