Ray Dorsey Horton

Life Reflections

Ray Dorsey Horton was born November 27, 1953 to the late Vance, Jr. and Willett Horton of Jackson, TN. He entered eternal rest on August 19, 2022, after a long illness. He accepted Christ at an early age. Ray was a hard worker. He enjoyed sports. The Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears were a couple of his favorites. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing dominoes and spades. He was kind and sweet hearted. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Neely Horton; brothers, James and Donald; sisters, Mae Catherine, Addie, Mary, Louise and Cheyenne; nieces, Kindra and Felicia; and a stepson, Jerome Neely. He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Kristia Horton and Traci Horton both of Chicago, IL; son, Brandon Horton of North Carolina; step-children, Jerome (Brandi) Neely, Donnie (Angela) Neely, Terry (Hope) House, Traci (Mesghana) House, Sherry House and Bonita (Brian) McKnight all of Jackson, TN and Melinda (Amesha) Bond of Indiana; his sisters, Gloria Daniels of Nashville, Ruth (Percy) Roby of Rockford, IL, and Nora Horton Stewart of Jackson, TN; brother, Robert (Sheryl) Horton of Rockford, IL, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will always cherish his memory.
